The solution
We follow the records and investigate how they connect.
A different way to investigate records. BRII approaches research like a laboratory. We examine original records, follow how they connect, and test possible explanations when the evidence calls for it. We look for patterns, question what doesn’t add up, and check whether the records support what appears to have happened. We explain what the evidence establishes—and what remains unknown. A written deliverable identifies the records examined, the source citations, the relationships among them, the discrepancies, what the records support, and what remains uncertain. Source code and unpublished internal procedures are not the deliverable.
